Drive through your whole foot to stand back up, squeezing your glutes at the top.

Tips for perfect form

  • Slow down the lowering phase — 2 to 3 seconds — to build control.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How low should I squat?

At least until your thighs are parallel to the floor, if your form allows. Depth you control is more valuable than depth you force.

Why do my knees hurt when I squat?

Check that your knees track over your toes and your heels stay down. If pain persists, reduce depth and consult a professional.
